ONLINE: The Concept of Play
Note: This will be a live, online class offered through Zoom. To participate, you will need to download the free, basic version of the Zoom app before the class! Zoom info will be sent to registered attendees one hour before the event begins.
---
Rope is hard. Rope makes our brains think so much. We focus so much on the tie that we forget how to be playful in rope. We get caught up in patterns and structure that we forget about discovery and collaboration. In this class, we will learn rope all over again. No rules. Like a preschooler with a box of crayons we are going to color outside the lines. We are going to explore ways to incorporate play back into our rope so that we can connect our partners in the moments. And bottoms we will learn to to influence that fun and collaborate with our partners to tie our bodies in new and exciting ways. After leaving this class rope will make you smile rather than make you frustrated.
Skill Level: Beginner
Prerequisites: non-collapsing single column ties, structural body harnesses, rope suspension knowledge and practice. This shouldn't be your first suspension class
Materials needed: Rope - 8 to 12 hanks of jute or hemp. All suspension gear needed to create a point and uplines including suspension ring, climbing straps, and carabiners.
Cutting Tool - Make sure you bring a cutting tool for safety. DO NOT COME TO CLASS WITHOUT THIS.

TICKETING:
$15 - $35 in advance through Brown Paper Tickets until one hour prior to the event.
https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/5091950
We offer a sliding scale, so that cost is not a barrier to attendance.
The regular ticket is $25. This is what most people should pay.
The $15 ticket is offered for those for whom the $25 ticket would be a barrier to participation. If $25 is too much, we take your word for it! Just pay $15.
Have a great salary? Feeling generous? Paying at the $35 level allows us to make the discounted ticketing available to others who need it. :)
So - that's it! Choose the level you can comfortably afford.
ACCESS:
Zoom now provides closed captioning. We also recommend the Live Transcribe App. It is free, easy to use, and works well with virtual events.
This will be a live, online class offered through Zoom. To participate, you will need to download the free, basic version of the Zoom app before the class! This class will not be recorded or available for later viewing.
