The role of storytelling in the theater of the 21st century and beyond.

Presented by UW World Series in conjunction with UW School of Drama. We are happy to provide this free lecture to students of all stripes. Following the lecture, please walk over to the Jones Playhouse for the SITI Company's performance of Cafe Variations! (  

Anne Bogart is a prolific and award-winning American theatre and opera director. She is currently one of the Artistic Directors of SITI Company, which she founded with Japanese director Tadashi Suzuki in 1992. She is a Professor at Columbia University where she runs the Graduate Directing Concentration and is the author of three books: A Director Prepares, The Viewpoints Book and And Then, You Act. In addition to her books and essays, she publishes a monthly essay for her blog on SITI Company's website
