ASAP
ASAP, is a powerful, autobiographical monologue about the aftermath of Heather Marlowe's drug-rape and her rape kit that languished at the San Francisco Police Department for  2.5 years. Told through a series of vignettes, the show exposes the prevailing injustices of rape on a personal, social, and political level while creatively challenging the audience to think about the societal and cultural constructs of victim blaming and violence against women.  The story is as unique as it is universal - grappling with emotions that we all experience: shame, doubt, powerlessness, forgiveness and love. Ultimately, Heather Marlowe has taken an experience that would have destroyed the best of us, and turned it into a theatrical, eye-opening experience for the audience.

ASAP was written in 2010 and is currently being work-shopped with the intent toward a full production at a regional theater in 2014. Previous workshop development consultants were Gabrielle Roth, Pesha Rudnick, and Karen Penley. ASAP has been work-shopped at The Phoenix Theater, Counterpulse, and Stagewerx in San Francisco as well as at private readings in San Francisco and New York City. ASAP was also featured on San Francisco's ABC7 news in 2013. Additional supporters of ASAP include: San Francisco Women Against Rape, Shalom Bayit, and MoveMe Studio. ASAP is a recent recipient of The Yerba Buena Center for the Arts grant in San Francisco.
