LOCAL SELECTION: Rope A Dope (2013) by Eric Jacobus (LA Indie, Oakland Underground and SF Shorts Film Festivals):
Meet the Dope, who takes a beating by a local gang of martial art thugs, only to awaken the same day after being knocked out. Every day he finds himself in the same fight, awakening the same day, and forced to fight every day. When the Dope takes his fate into his own hands, things begin to turn around.

From India comes Andrew Hinton's documentary Amar (2011), which follows a 14-year old boy through his daily life. American director Meghan O'Hara presents us with a lush meditation on the centrality of color in our everyday experience in her documentary Color Film (2008), while the German / Romanian production Silent River (2011) by Anca Miruna Lăzărescu takes you back to 1986's Romania when Gregor and Vali try to get away.
Norwegian director Kristoffer Borgli shares with us the story of "Inspector Norse" in his documentary Whateverest (2012), a failed musician who produces dance videos and drug recipes for YouTube. The Brazilian short A DISTRAÇÃO DE IVAN (2009) tells the story about Ivan, an eleven-year-old boy, who lives with his grandmother in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro, directed by Cavi Borges & Gustavo Melo.
The animation Bonefeather (2009) by Nathan Gilliss & Callum Paterson offers us an insight into the mating behaviour of Canadian birds and from France director Sean Ellis sends us his comedy Voyage d'affaires (2008), where we follow Jean Paul Clement on his business trip and learn he has one saved message on his mobile phone and a personal dilemma.

*The venue is located in the city center so please bear in mind that the parking is limited around the area. The place is easy to reach by buses 47, 49, 10, 12, 1, 19, 27 and Golden Gate Transit buses 10, 70, 93, 101, 101x.
