Grimm Tales
Grimm Tales offers a contemporary take on the much loved fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm, revealing the dark and mischievous side of the original stories. Wit and enchantment combine to bring to life the colorful and strange world of the child's imagination.This is real story-telling as, with spirit and energy, Grimm Tales explores our childhood fears, bringing a new twist and more than a hint of black comedy to some of the most famous stories ever written. Here are Hansel and Gretel, The Golden Goose and Ashputtel (Cinderella) brought to life as you have never seen them before. Carol Ann Duffy is a multi-award winning poet and playwright whose work has been performed at the Liverpool Playhouse and the Almeida Theatre. Her latest collection of poetry, Rapture, won the 2006 TS Eliot Prize. Tim Supple's adaptations include Salman Rushdie's Haroun and the Sea of Stories for the National Theatre and Billy Budd for the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield.
