Event
Transitions 2013
Each fall, PNWJETAA hosts a one-day event called, Transitions: Career and Networking Forum. Although this event was originally designed to help returning JET Alumni as they re-enter the American job market, it has since expanded in purpose and participants it is designed to provide a place and space for people to exchange ideas and business cards, and is open to the community at large. If you are new to the Northwest, curious about pursuing a graduate degree, looking to switch careers, or recently returned from Japan, come hear from our nationally known speakers and panelists.
Our Goal: To enable and support our community through sharing.
PNWJETAA's overarching aim is to provide a place and space for people (participants, vendors and staff alike) the opportunity to share stories, exchange ideas, and strives to give all Transitions attendees insight into the state of the current job market, information about higher education opportunities, and ways to get involved in the local community.
PNWJETAA also strives to provide all attendees avenues to pursue for actual job opportunities and access to representatives from the employment, higher education & non-profit sectors. To accomplish this goal, PNWJETAA hosts a Networking Expo featuring local businesses, universities and community based organizations that that seek potential prospects, who possess the skills, language ability and international work experience possesed by JET Alumni. In addition to guest vendors, PNWJETAA is proud to present representatives from J-Link, which focuses on businesses owned by or supported by our members. Attendees should visit these booths to learn more about the products/services offered by our J-LINK representatives & how they started their own businesses!
