Join the Brooklyn Food Coalition Policy Committee and our partners Food & Water Watch and Chefs for the Marcellus on Tuesday, October 15 for an educational panel discussion on fracking and extreme energy projects in NYC and New York State.

"Food, Fracking, and You" will discuss how extreme energy projects impact our food, health, economy, infrastructure, safety, and communities.

Panelists include:
Activists Jessica Roff and Asha Canalos from Minisink, NY, a small town located an hour north of NYC in the state's "black dirt" region and dairy shed

Dr. Jerry Wintrob from the Park Slope Food Coop who will discuss how fracking can impact our food supply and food economy from a local business perspective

Council member Gale Brewer who will discuss fracking from a policymakers perspective including a discussion of legislation affecting food and fracking

The event will be held from 6:30pm - 8:30pm at local food haven 61 Local in Cobble Hill.


Free admission. Cash bar and food available for purchase.
