Saturday Night Movie - 80,000 Suspects
Now heres a curiosity! A doctor and his nurse wife are attempting to save their faltering marriage as New Year celebrations are getting underway, when he is summoned to the local hospital to attend to a patient with mysterious symptoms. https://111.nhs.uk/ would have advised stay at home, as it turns out to be smallpox, and the hospital goes into lockdown. Too late! The virus is out and busily infecting the good citizens of yes BATH! The whole film was shot on location here during the savage winter of 1963, and the city puts in an Oscar-worthy performance as The Backdrop. One reviewer writes: the reality of the situation is still unnerving should it ever happen in our lifetime. No chance of that, surely? A stunning hi-def transfer to blu-ray disc means this black-and-white veteran lives to delight another day - we want to hear you whooping every time you recognise a location!
Plus Pearl & Dean,Looney Tunes or B-Feature, Intermission, Popcorn, Ice Cream and other delights!
