January 18, 8:30pm update from the JCCNV: There are a few tickets available for the 1:30pm performance. Order below until the 'sold out' message appears. The 4pm performance is sold out.
If you have interest in musical events, please consider "Jews Who Rock" on Sunday, January 26 at 3pm (saluting the Jewish greats of the rock 'n' roll era), or HooShir A Cappella & Potomac Fever on Saturday, March 8 at 8pm (HooShir is from Indiana University, and Potomac Fever is from the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington). Both events are listed on Brown Paper Tickets.
Originally formed in 2007 as Yeshiva University's student vocal group, the Maccabeats have emerged as both Jewish music and a cappella phenomena, with more than 10 million views on YouTube, numerous TV appearances, and proven success with two albums, 2010s "Voices From The Heights" and 2012s "Out Of The Box."
Though the Maccabeats aren't your grandfather's synagogue choir, their ideology and identity play an important part in what they do. Strongly committed to the philosophy of Torah u-Madda, the integration of traditional and secular wisdom, the Maccabeats perform an eclectic array of Jewish, American, and Israeli songs.
