#GettingBackOutdoors: How-to Webinars #GettingBackOutdoors is a series of initiatives and events in response to Covid-19 set up by OutdoorArtsUK to support those currently working in the Outdoor Arts sector, as well as anyone looking to take their work outside, perhaps for the first time. Between 4-6 Aug, OutdoorArtsUK will host three How-to Webinars designed to introduce organisations, venues and artists to the world of Outdoor Arts and to consider what might be needed when working in this context. Each webinar will see a range of guest speakers offer practical and creative considerations, suggestions and solutions as well as taking specific questions from participants.
How-to: Artists Thurs 6 Aug, 2-3:30pm Co-Chaired by: Angus Mackechnie (Executive Director, OAUK) & Sarah Bird (Director, Wild Rumpus/Just So Festival & OAUK Board Member) Speakers: TBC In light of the Covid-19 situation, many artists are considering how to present and adapt work for outdoor environments. They may be wondering how to translate their venue-based practice to an outdoor setting or considering new ways of making and presenting work for the outdoors. They may be looking at what the differences are when thinking about working outside, and what is good practice: the practicalities and pitfalls as well as any added value and advantage. This how-to webinar will be useful for any artists who are looking for advice on how to present and adapt work for outdoor environments from a creative and practical perspective, perhaps for the first time You might be a director, choreographer, performer, designer or visual artist. You might be a theatre or dance company. You may have some experience of working outdoors or none-at-all, whatever your practice or experience, were here to help you get outdoors.
