I Have A Dream - BAY AREA PREMIERE!
The Chorus is thrilled to present two performances of an original piece by former Chorus Director and Bay Area composer, John Maas. It is a beautiful setting for Chorus, Piano, and Narrator of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s stirring "I Have a Dream" speech from the 1963 March for Jobs and Freedom in Washington DC.
We are very happy that we will be joined by Vukani Mawethu, the Bay Area's well-known and beloved South African Chorus, and also by Benjamin Mertz, the eminent director of Richmond's Joyful Noise! Gospel Singers, who will be delivering Dr. King's unforgettable and inspiring words. It is a unique presentation you will not want to miss!
To round out the concert, each chorus will share songs from their own repertoires.
