ONLINE Power Exchange and Mental Illness

Coming from a psychology background (BA in psychology, Ph.D. in political psychology) Auntie Vice discusses how power exchange relationships can impact the mental health and well being of those living with mental illnesses. The class covers issues such as loving partners with a variety of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, OCD and panic attacks. Participants explore how various mental health conditions change the way people respond to traditional aspects of power exchange relationships. Additionally the class covers issues such as the problems of trying to turn your partners into your therapist and trauma lodged in the body. Finally, it covers how protocols can help partners with mental illness.
PRESENTER:
Auntie Vice/Rebecca Blanton
Auntie Vice is a freelance writer and podcaster. She has been part of the kink community for more than three decades. An agender, queer, submissive, her work focuses on kink from the right of the slash. She runs the popular blog "Love Letters to a Unicorn" and the podcast "Fat Chicks on Top." She has a BA in psychology and a Ph.D. (abd) in Political Psychology. She brings her background as an academic researcher and understanding of systematic, institutional and personal power to her work about kink.
