POSTPONED: Cadence 2020 Video Poetry Spring Break Youth Camp (ages 12-17) - April 13-17
We are adapting our plan for this camp due to COVID-19. If youre interested in participating, regardless of ability to attend in person, please email rana@nwfilmforum.org.
***
In this interactive camp, students will be introduced to the genre of video poetry and collaborate in groups to create a video poem of their own. Students will engage with poetry playfully, through poetry games (exquisite corpse), video collage (through found footage), and soundscape. Fun, explorative, and experimental, this camp will help students understand the many ways poetry can be experienced off the page, offering tools and resources to bring creative visions to life. Using NWFF cameras and Adobe Premiere, students will create and edit their own video poems to share with friends, family, and festival audiences at April 17 showcase of the 2020 Cadence: Video Poetry Festival.
All equipment and software is provided. Students are welcome to bring their own tech, art, and writing to work with as well.
We allow for drop-off and pickup within 30 minutes of the start and end time of each program.
We will provide snacks and drinks. Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle. Please let us know if you have dietary restrictions by emailing jonah@nwfilmforum.org after registering.
