WINeFare 2020: Drinking Clearly
WINeFare 2020 is taking place on Saturday, March 7, from 1  5 pm at The Women's Building in San Francisco. More than 25 female and nonbinary winemakers, business owners and importers are pouring in this celebration of natural wine, women's empowerment, environmental stewardship, and social justice.  Ticket proceeds benefit the Immigration Center for Women and Children.

* If you want to support WINeFare but are unable to attend, please considering helping someone else out by purchasing a ticket, and dropping us an email at winefaresf@gmail.com.  Just write in the subject line WINeFare Paying It Forward Fund.

** WINeFare also has volunteer opportunities. There are two shifts so that our volunteers have time to also enjoy the tasting.

What makes WINeFare different from other wine events?

WINeFare was the first (2018) and might still be the only tasting that features exclusively women and non-binary wine professionals who work in the natural wine field.
Since its inception, most of the proceeds from the event have been directed toward organizations that help women and children in need, or women and environment focused creative endeavors.
o2018: $5000 raised for a school and children's center at the Burj El-Barajneh refugee camp in Lebanon.
o2019: $5000 raised for The Mary Elizabeth Inn, a women's shelter in San Francisco and $2000 raised for an Ecofarm women's scholarship.
o2020 beneficiaries: Ticket sales benefiting The Immigration Center for Women and Children. Silent auction proceeds are helping fund a documentary on the women who pioneered and shaped the natural wine movement, directed by Pamela Busch, WINeFare's founder.
WINeFare is an entirely volunteer-run event.
WINeFare does not charge winemakers or importers a fee to participate. Our winemakers still have costs associated with travel and sample bottles, but we feel that having one less financial hurdle makes the event more accessible, especially to new wine business ventures.
We take an intersectional approach and seek to create equity and an atmosphere of belonging for all marginalized communities.
We think that the most important conversations to be had surrounding the definition of natural wine starts in the vineyard. While organic farming is a good start, we believe regenerative farming on a widescale basis is a necessary action to correct the imbalances caused by environmental degradation.
