Heronswood Class Series: Plant Study: Asteraceae
Asters and goldenrods are the glue that hold the late summer garden together, and carry it into autumn. The final course in our 2020 Plant Study series, this class explores everything the Asteraceae, or composite, family has to offer, from goldenrods and asters to Eupatorium and Vernonia. Heronswood Taxonomist Dr. Ross Bayton will highlight some of the most garden-worthy species and cultivars in the family, explore their identification and biology, and lead participants on a tour of Heronswood's extensive, beautiful collection of Aster family members.
