CANCELLED Heronswood Classes: Woodland Gardening

In this exciting new class, Kenneth Cox will provide expert advice on planting and maintaining woodland gardens, dealing with climate change, pests and diseases, and restoring overgrown gardens. There will be inspirational planting ideas, information on the best rhododendrons, magnolias, camellias, hydrangeas, woodland perennials and bulbs, and ideas on how to combine them to greatest effect. Issues such as climate change, pests and disease, and the costs of buying homes with space to garden are also addressed.
Scotlands best-selling and multi-award-winning garden writer, Kenneth Cox is uniquely placed to cover this subject. A third-generation woodland gardener at Glendoick, Scotland a nurseryman and author of 12 books on Scottish gardens, plant-hunting, gardening and rhododendrons. Ken is a plant hunter, rhododendron breeder and managing director of the family firm Glendoick Gardens, Scotland, which specializes in rhododendrons, azaleas & ericaceous plants.
A two-part, interactive presentation will be followed by a tour of the woodland garden at Heronswood. Kenneth Cox's latest book, Woodland Gardening: Landscaping with Rhododendrons, Magnolias, Camellias and Acid-Loving Plants will be available for sale following the class.
