OUR LOST YEARS
"Our Lost Years" is a community event hosted by the Puyallup Valley JACL, the Greater Kent Historical Society, the Kent Lutheran Church, and the White River Buddhist Temple.
Lane Nishikawa's film recalls the incarceration of 120,000 individuals of Japanese descent during WWII. "Our Lost Years" takes the audience on a personal, comprehensive, behind-the-scenes journey, exploring the emotional and psychological impact of Executive Order 9066 and H.R. 442. It recounts the insurmountable ten-year battle for redress and reparations with its bittersweet triumph and the legacy of a battered community becoming the voice of justice for all people.

Simple refreshments will be served by the hosting organizations: Greater Kent Historical Society, Kent Grand Organ, Puyallup Valley JACL, and White River Buddhist Temple.
