Ever read about yet another punitive abortion law cruising through yet another state legislature and think, Thank goodness I live in Minnesota, because that would never fly here! Not so fast! We actually have a long list of homegrown abortion restrictions, each more outrageous than the last like the one forcing physicians to meet with their patients at least 24 hours prior to an abortion just to deliver a state-mandated script informing them about a (non-existent) link between breast cancer and abortion. Our cute midwestern accent also starts to sound even less self-righteous when you look around and realize that there only 5 abortion clinics remaining in the entire state.
