Speaking Religious Truth to Political Power: Pre-Election Lessons from American Values, Religious Voices
The American Values, Religious Voices: 100 Days, 100 Letters campaign sent a letter a day to the President, Vice President, and Members of the 115th Congress for the first 100 days of the Trump administration. Written by a multifaith group of scholars who spoke up in the wake of the 2016 election, the letters offer insights drawn from our diverse religious traditions that can guide us as we approach another national election. Rabbi Weiss will highlight key lessons gleaned from a project that provides an antidote to the acrimony and discord that pervade politics today.

One of its unique features is its collection of poetry and other creative responses to each Torah portion. As we study a sampling of Voices poems, we will consider how poetry can enrich our understanding of Torah and our personal connections to our sacred text.
