Agency in Storytelling is a question we grapple with daily as a company with its complex intersection of privilege, influence, and visibility. Join us for a panel followed by an open bar reception.

Our panelists will include Jillian Carucci (TheatreWorks USA), Ana M. Verde (Sundance), Johanna Pan (NYU Graduate Costume Design), Carlos Armesto (Theatre C), and Nathan Tempro (Teacher/Writer/Musician)

Jillian Carucci
Jillian Carucci is the current Artistic Associate at TheaterWorksUSA. She is also a NY/NJ-based theatre director with experience working off-Broadway and regionally at theatres such as McCarter Theatre Center,  Atlantic Theater Acting School, The Hangar Theatre, and Keen Company. She is a recipient of the 2017 Drama League Directing Fellowship. Select directing: The Danube (The Hangar Theatre: Wedge), Lillys Purple Plastic Purse (The Hangar Theatre: KiddStuff), Identity (Tony-Award winner Alice Ripleys solo show). Off-Broadway Assistant Directing: Hot Mess (The Jerry Orbach Theatre), Lonely Planet (Keen Company), Fable (NYMF). Teaching: Acting faculty at CAP21/Molloy College, McCarter Theatre Center and Premiere Stages. Alum of The Drama League Directors Project, SDCF Observership class. Ana M. Verde
Hailing from Puerto Rico, Ana Verde is a producer and dramaturg working in new play development and podcasting. As the Manager of Sundance Institutes Theatre Program, Ana collaborates with her team to design, oversee, and execute various artist-residency programs year-round, specifically supporting emerging theatremakers. Her recent dramaturgy includes Dream Hou$e by Eliana Pipes (Ars Nova) and Columbus Play by Daniella De Jesús (The Parsnip Ship).

Johanna Pan
Johanna Pan is a New York based costume, set, prop and production designer. Recent credits include The Sign in Sydney Brusteins Window (NYU Tisch Grad), James and the Giant Peach and Bye Bye Birdie (Barrington Stage), Urinetown (LNT), Delta in the Sky (Boogla Nights), The Sea Concerto (Flux), Salomé: Woman of Valor (Chutzpah! Festival), Ajax in Iraq and Woyzeck (Strasberg), Four Sisters (WWTNS?), Aphrodisiac (Loft 227), Cinderella (Coleytown), Boom (Stonewater Productions), Fingers & Toes (Plaza), Am I? Am I? Am I? (Flea), and associate costume designer for the recent Lincoln Center Falsettos revival on Broadway. She has also worked at Goodspeed Musicals, The Muny, Playwrights Horizons, Signature (DC), Roundabout, Primary Stages, Maltz Jupiter, Alley, Asolo Rep, Arena Stage, Steppenwolf, Rattlestick, Atlantic. Carlos Armesto
Carlos Armesto is the Founding Artistic Director of Theatre C. Selected Theatre C credits include directing Radiant Baby (Joes Pub at the Public), Hedwig and the Angry Inch; Spring Awakening, The Whos Tommy (NJ Tony: Best Director), and disOriented. Other Directing Credits: Louis Armstrong Jazz Ambassador (Making Books Sing); Kingdom (ReVision Theatre; NJ Tony: Best Musical). Princess Grace Award (2005), Princess Grace Special Project Grant (2010); BS Chemical Engineering and Theatre (M.I.T). MFA Directing (Carnegie Mellon School of Drama). SDC, NAMT.
