Hofesh Shechter Companys Autumn Intensive
We invite you to join us for our final 5-day intensive course of 2019, where we will be feeling nostalgic and delving into Hofeshs works from the last decade or so. You will explore rich repertoire as we look back at Hofeshs early pieces such as Uprising (2006) and The Art of Not Looking Back (2008), then fast forward to his most recent works Clowns (2015) and Grand Finale (2017).
This is a great opportunity to explore in depth the fundamental principles of Hofesh's distinct dance vocabulary, and how this has evolved over the last decade. The week will be led by Bruno Guillore our Assistant Artistic Director, alongside our longest serving company dancers Chien-Ming Chang, Yeji Kim and Frédéric Despierre.
This Autumn Intensive will have two sessions:
The morning session is open to a maximum of 25 professional dancers, teachers and dance students on vocational courses who have taken an Intensive course with us in the past and are looking to enrich their practice and training.*
Alternatively, the afternoon session is open to a maximum of 25 people who are new to Hofesh's work, but would like to explore Hofesh's repertoire and dance language.
*Please note that sessions are not based on ability or previous dance experience. The sessions are based on whether you have participated in previous Hofesh Shecther Company intensives, to ensure that you gain a different and fresh experience from previous intensives.
Our emphasis is always on giving participants a rich experience, by offering individual feedback throughout the session. We deliberately keep the numbers of our Intensives low in order to ensure this personal feedback as you immerse yourself in the working style of the company.
If you have any questions about which session you would like to attend, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Everybody teaching on the intensive was incredibly kind and knowledgeable, and they made all of us feel welcome and important within the classes - nobody was left out or ignored. The structure of each day worked well to progress through the material and learn step-by-step, and the overall weeks structure meant the classes were challenging but not overwhelming. A really great experience!- Previous Participant.
See you there!
