Komitas 150
On November 9, 2019, world-renowned Japanese pianist and forte pianist, Keiko Shichijo presents a program dedicated to the piano works of Komitas Vardapet, the Armenian priest, musicologist, composer and arranger who is considered to be the founder of the Armenian national school of music, and one of the pioneers of ethnomusicology.
This year the Armenian Community is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the birth of Komitas Vardapet (1869-1935). We are excited to have Ms. Shichijo perform at our event where we hope, music can be a bridge between two ancient cultures.
