Juhé Burn 2019 Decompression and JB2020 Orga-Weekend
Agora Grove, Nyim

Share this event:

JUHÉ BURN is an outdoors arts and community gathering, created by the Hungarian burner community inspired by and in line with Burning Man's 10 Principles: https://burningman.org/culture/philosophical-center/10-principles MORE INFO: http://www.juheburn.org (Hungarian) We needed to cancel / postpone this year's Juhé Burn as we unexpectedly lost access to the land. THIS WEEKEND is to connect with each-other and strengthen the core-team to make an even better Hungarian Burn in a new location in 2020 Spring.

LOCATION: Agora Grove in Nyim, the land of a community member. It's a wonderful semi-nomad location in nature, with sheep, goats, emu, rabbits and a Sauna sanctuary.

GOALS: Letting go of Juhé Burn 2019, decompression
Team-building, decisions and preparations for a Juhé Burn 2020 late Spring with a new location

WHAT WE WILL DO: Creative: Whatever we bring, same as at a Burn :) What we plan to do: Community work, Sauna Sanctuary in the evenings, Orga-conversations, first steps for a Hungarian Burn 2020 in a new location. Planning for location-hunting. What we can't do: No loud noise, music possible at this location.

INFRASTRUCTURE: Limited space in a Jurt (only mat, sleeping bag needed - there will probably be enough space, but reserve through the Juhé Burn FB Group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/juheburn) if you want to be sure), otherwise self-reliance (tent, RV). Outdoors shower, limited warm indoors shower, compost toilet, limited kitchen available. Bring what you need for camping, eating, drinking, cooking, gifting.

COSTS: Admission is free, but we ask for a voluntary contribution to cover direct costs related to this weekend and starting organizing of Juhé Burn 2020. If there are enough donations before Friday, we will shop raw materials for cooking together, otherwise we will cook what you bring.

----------
BELOW is the ORIGIONAL description for Juhé Burn, to give an idea of the event planned for Spring 2020:

By joining this magical gathering, you only get access to an area. There will be toilets, but no food, no drinks, no workshops, no decoration, no artwork, no music, no fire shows, no party - unless WE bring it with us! And this WE includes YOU.

PARTICIPATION: There are no spectators - YOU create this event. Figure out what you love to give and give as much as you can.

DECOMMODIFICATION: We leave commercial interests at home. No trade, no asking for donations - instead we create together. From the contribution ("ticket") nobody will have a profit, and currently everyone including founders pay the contribution.

SELF-RELIANCE: Bring everything you need. Exceptions are few and noted - such as toilets, which are organized by our core team.

LEAVE NO TRACE: We respect the environment and we leave every place in a better state than when we found it. Every participant and every camp, artist - everyone! - needs to commit to leaving no trace. Pack it in, Pack it out. Plan ahead to Leave No Trace!

BUILD, STRIKE: Event dates are Sep. 26 (Thu) to Sep. 29 (Sun). Build: Sep. 23 (Mon) - Sep. 25. (Wed). We aim for our camps and installations to be operational from Sep. 26 12:00 (noon) to Sep. 30. 20:00 (8 PM). Please plan for at least part of your teams to arrive early for build. Strike starts Monday and takes as long as it takes - last year one day was enough. Please plan for at least a part of your team to be able to attend.

CONTRIBUTION: We share some costs between all participants. We intend to keep the shared costs ("ticket") as low as possible, so everyone can decide on how much time and resources to invest into their creations. Of course, in line with Decommodification / No-Commerce nobody will profit from the event.
