FIND MUTYA a.k.a. mutya macatumpag will be opening the show at 2pm followed by a short break. And then Siobhan Sloane-Seale will share some original songs, some covers, and a new song!
Siobhan Sloane-Seale
On her debut album One Of My Friends, Vancouver-based singer/songwriter Siobhan Sloane-Seale offers 11 gorgeous observations of the world around her, each revealing profound insights into the human condition. Set against the backdrop of restrained-yet-inventive arrangements, the songs are the ideal showcase for Siobhans easy flowing voice and poetry.
One Of My Friends may be her introduction to the wider folk-rock world, but it is the result of over a decade of experience within the Vancouver arts scene, and as a social justice activist. After moving from Winnipeg in 1998 to study dance at Simon Fraser University, Siobhan has been a part of many projects as a musician, dancer, and actor, while slowly amassing an impressive collection of original material, along with the team to get it down on tape. That includes producer/bassist Jesse Waldman of Vancouvers Red Light Sound, lead guitarist Caroline Allatt, drummer Connor Charles Brooks, keyboardist Mike Turner, percussionist Robin Layne, trumpeter Nikola Tosic and backing vocalist Tania Gosgnach.
The chemistry they generated gives the album a live feel overall, while at the same time drawing the listener in with an irresistible intimacy. That shines through brilliantly on tracks such as the powerful opener The Rain Cant Help It, the bluesy Too Far To Go, and the uplifting, self-assured title track.
Siobhan Sloane-Seale is that rare kind of artist whose positivity is truly irresistible, and more impactful with each listen. One Of My Friends captures it all beautifully and is sure to become her calling card to audiences across Canada and around the world.

Mutya is a queer filipino of Spanish and Malayan descent made in the Philippines and born a settler on the unsurrendered and ancestral Coast Salish Territories of the xwmkwym (Musqueam), swxwú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:l, and Tsleil-Waututh traditional peoples.
Mutya is an interdisciplinary professional artist and facilitator who interweaves music, movement, theatre and visual arts within her professional practice as a vocalist, creator, mc, performer, creative empowerment facilitator and event producer.
In sound, Mutya experiments with a keyboard, looper, audio sampling and guitalele, creating a collage of sound landscapes. A vibrato compared to that of Tracy Chapman, Mutyas voice evokes an ancient remembering, an ancestral stir of emotion that transcends time and grace.
Mutya is enlivened by opportunities to explore authentic exchange, leadership, social justice, and people empowerment and has worked with a variety of intergenerational, intercultural and youth focused organizations across BC, Canada and the US. She is currently with Partners for Youth Empowerment (PYE), IndigenEyez,Reel Youth, Pride In Art Society and Access to Media Education Society.
Mutya has performed at numerous events and festivals such as Lotus Roots, Asian Heritage Month, Artswells Festival of All Things Art, Verses Festival of Words, BC BUDS, Banff Centre for the Arts, Vancouver International Dance Festival, Vancouver Art Gallery, VIVO, Tiny Tiny Cozy Fest, Queer Arts Festival, Koksilah Music Festival, Vancouver Dyke March, Vancouver Pride, Seattle Pride, Perversite Montreal, New Forms Festival among many more stages.

Meet the Band!
Caroline Allatt
Engaging and transformative on stage, the blues-rock guitarist-singer-songwriter Caroline Allatt has sparked up energy throughout BC and the Yukon in the past year with her fearless performances where she expresses a fire within her on stage. Her approach comes from a place of spontaneity and self-love. Allatts hook-laden sound has been linked to Stevie Ray Vaughan, Janis Joplin, and Bonnie Raitt. Caroline is currently working on her new single.
Sally Zori
A trans-masculine Iraqi raised in the United Arab Emirates and different parts of Canada, Sally is a session musician, percussionist, and content creator. They have played stages and theatres in North America, Europe, and Australia with different bands, orchestras, musicals, theatre shows, and (one new years eve in 2008) was the percussionist for Aretha Franklin.
Catherine Hiltz is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and educator from Edmonton, AB who has called Vancouver, BC home since 2010. As a session musician, Catherine has worked with artists Tegan and Sara and Rae Spoon, and producers Sylvia Massey (Johnny Cash, Tool, Red Hot Chili Peppers), Alex Hope (Tegan and Sara, Alannis Morisette), and Howard Redekopp (Tegan and Sara). Currently, she plays in Queer As Funk, Bad Pop, Rong, and Loose Fang; in addition to performing and recording with a number of artists including Mathew V (604 Records), Hunting (Nevado Records), Khari McClelland, CR Avery, and Catlow. Her work with Bad Pop has taken her around the globe, and she has performed in groups with members of The Matthew Good Band, Mother Mother, and KMFDM.
Tanya Gosgnach
Tania began her love affair with the piano at the age of 10. She studied classical in her early years and then studied jazz with the late Bob Murphy. She was a member of the art trio, Transylvanian Polka and is best known for her gender bending performances while fronting Queen tribute band, Stone Cold Crazy. Tania is also a singer\songwriter and currently adds sparkle and pop as the backup singer for 80s art punk eccentrics, Red Herring.

Nikola Tosic is a trumpet player, composer and workshop facilitator from Belgrade, Serbia. His musical activities include improv-based performance (Rory Cowal, NDT), Balkan brass (Super Krystal, malagrupa, Orkestar Slivovica), collaborative composition (Concertgebouw Amsterdam, University of British Columbia, National Arts Festival South Africa etc) and music production for dance (Korzo, NDT, HCMA, Springboard, PReP - Arts Umbrella).
