Spring Awakening

Drama Studio presents Frank Wedekind's late 19th century play Spring Awakening. A seminal work of modern drama, this profound and poignant play is a cautionary coming of age story that depicts the disasters young people can face when they are raised in a world filled with repression and deceit. A group of teens struggle to sort the truth from the lies fed to them by the adults in their lives, with sometimes hilarious and sometimes tragic consequences. Adapted and directed by professional guest artist Toby Vera Bercovici we are very excited to present this powerful and still frustratingly relevant piece.

**Spring Awakening deals with powerful themes of suicide and teenage sexuality, including heterosexuality, homosexuality, and sexual violence. Because of this, our production is recommended for ages 15 and up
