Murder Mystery Dinner at Scully's Silver Lake Diner
Things are in an uproar in the Village of Schmalem Lakes, Wisconsin. THE local controversy is CHICKENS. Everyone wants a chicken in their yard. Well, not everyone. And the latest news is that long-time resident, The Rooster -- a.k.a, Harlan Gallo -- has been killed. He was found in his barn, his head chopped off like a chickens.
Everyone in town loved Harlan: always laughing, fun, helpful, has been key in leading the charge with the pro-chicken people. Everyone loved him unless they have had to deal with him on a one-to-one basis. Then, they learned who the real Harlan Gallo was: a conceited, people-using, money-grubbing, man who is only interested in satisfying his own needs and not giving a darn about whom he steps over or on to get them. His real goal is to become of the largest egg producers in Wisconsin and will stop at nothing to make that happen. He also has, uh, personal needs that he likes satisfied. One is of the problems with huge chicken operations is the odor that they produce. Making sure that everyone in the village owns chickens will help water down any complaints about Harlan's operation as it grows.
The Rooster had several threats leveled against him by the people that knew him well, including dead chickens in his mailbox. The sheriff is investigating the murder but has arrested no one.
A pro-chicken meeting has been called at a local restaurant to talk strategy now that Harlan is gone but everyone knows, more than pro-chicken people will be there, perhaps even including the killer!
