Trauma 101 (CLARE/MILAGRO/MOMS HOUSE): Understanding Trauma, Resilience and Trauma-Informed Care
WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT THIS TRAUMA 101 TRAINING:

"United Way of Lancaster County in partnership with the Lancaster Coalition to Combat Poverty was pleased to offer the Trauma 101 training to early childhood educators and stakeholders.  The training was a useful blend of scientific research, qualitative accounts, and practical application with an important focus on resilience. Participant feedback was resoundingly positive with requests for follow-up trainings on specific strategies to support young children and families facing trauma.  There is clearly a need for a broader trauma-informed perspective in our community and Trauma 101 is an essential step in the right direction." - Andrea Heberlein, MSW, Vice President of Strategic Impact, United Way of Lancaster County

"I recently attended the Trauma 101 course and I am totally in awe of how well the instructor explained and enriched the understanding of ACEs and child trauma in general during the course. There were many people there, and she had us all on our feet, engaging in active learning, sharing with each other, broadening and deepening our knowledge through activities, great videos which were well-interspersed throughout, and questions that made us really dig deep and think hard." - Lark Eshleman, PhD, Attachment and Trauma Consultant, Author and Educator, Executive Director, About Child Trauma Foundation

"The Trauma 101 training is excellent and I found it very helpful. Even though I was already seeking to implement trauma-informed practices in programs at our agency, this training provided a broader and more complete foundation for understanding trauma and resilience than I had previously. Many staff from our agency have now taken this training and I highly recommend it for everyone who interacts with people who have experienced trauma as children or as adults." - Roger Steffy, Vice President for Programs, Tabor Community Services

"Trauma 101 takes on the challenge of engaging us in a journey to better understand the lasting impact of trauma.  The presenters are masterful in their approach that blends facts with personal stories, self-reflection, and self-care, highlighting the trauma, but also leading us to embrace resilience and recovery." - Dr. Hilda Shirk, MSW, President & CEO, Lancaster Health Center (formerly SouthEast Lancaster Health Services)
