Together In Song
If you've already been to one of Vauxhall Voices' winter events at the Wheatsheaf Hall, you'll know that we do community singing events in a way that leaves everyone who comes feeling like something magical happened...

This year Vauxhall Voices are teaming up with singers from community choirs Sydenham Singers and Kings Fund Voices to form one big choir that will sing songs that celebrate and reflect on our togetherness, as human beings, as singers, as Londoners...

We are absolutely *delighted* to be sharing the evening with stunning singer-songwriters Robbie Boyd and Sophie Noel-Johnson, who will inspire and delight with their soulful musical offerings, and of course we'll all do some singing together! More info on these two beauties below.

There will be delicious and nutritious gluten and dairy free hot food available, made by *From the Earth Catering* (Debra Douglas' new company) - please note advance booking only.

We'll also be serving drinks and homemade sweet treats on the night.

So do come and join us, we'd love to share the evening with you!

SOPHIE NOEL-JOHNSON
Sophie is a soulful singer/song writer based in Bristol. Her heartfelt lyrics and other worldly voice will leave your particles ignited. She is currently working on a collaborative album with Robbie Boyd and playing gigs in London and Bristol.

Sophie says To sing is such a gift for all, it can be a bridge to connect us with each other at a level beyond boarders, beliefs or nationalities, in a place of joy we all know inside.

ROBBIE BOYD
Robbie Boyd has performed live on ITVs This Morning twice, his songs have been aired regularly on BBC Radio 2 by Graham Norton, Paul OGrady and Jeremy Vine. He has toured the world, supported the likes of The Kooks, McFly and The Feeling, played at numerous big UK festivals, and been raved about in The Times, Telegraph and Evening Standard.

Robbie says My music comes from my Soul. I've always been a big observer of life and translating this into songs is a very natural process for me. I find it's a wonderful way of expressing how I'm feeling without any barriers or filters that I might otherwise do in other forms of communication. For me it's very important that the type of lyrics I use in my songs are empowering for others and will offer some sort of growth and meaning for people, rather than the usual songs that you hear on the radio (as I used to write) about unrequited love and neediness which don't really serve anyone other than give the artist an opportunity to vent their unexpressed emotions. There's a big responsibility to be aware of what we're saying, especially through our art, as it can have a big impact on those who are receiving it. Ultimately words either lift people up or they pull people down. I have come to realise that my intention with my music, as much as possible, is to do the former.
