PASS CHRISTIAN THEATRE PROJECT "THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND"
The Pass Christian Theatre Project will open its fifth season with the Mississippi Gulf Coast premiere of "The World Goes Round," a lively musical review showcasing the songs of John Kander and Fred Ebb. Comprised of songs from their hit shows and films "Chicago," "Cabaret," "Funny Lady," "Woman of the Year" and numerous others, and crafted by David Thompson, Scott Ellis, and Susan Stroman, "The World Goes Round" received three Drama Desk awards for its original Off-Broadway production.
Frank Rich of The New York Times wrote The World Goes Round takes off like a shot in its the very first number and rarely descends to earth. Music Theatre International says Filled with humor, romance, drama and nonstop melody, thisis a thrilling celebration of life and the fighting spirit that keeps us all going. The nonstop hit-parade features unforgettable gems, including Mister Cellophane, Maybe This Time, Cabaret and New York, New York, seamlessly interwoven into a passionate, harmonious, up-tempo evening of musical theatre.
Directed by Tara S. Davis, the cast includes Leslie Aube, Linda Aiavolasiti, Anita Gianni, Will Koolsbergen, Ellie Mauffrey, Lex Mauffrey, Mary Ellen Murphy, and Jim Rux.
"The World Goes Round" will open on August 15 at the Randolph Center at 315 Clark Avenue in Pass Christian. Performances will be at 7 pm on Thursday through Saturday August 22, 23 and 24. There will be one matinee performance at 2 pm on Sunday, August 25th. Tickets are $20.00 and are available on brownpapertickets.com or can be reserved by calling 228-206-0857.
