Cultivate Your Microbiome
Your digestive tract contains billions of helpful gut bacteria, but how does our gut microbiome affect our health? We need to care for our gut microbiome as we would any ecosystem, by encouraging the growth of the beneficial species and discouraging the growth of pathogenic or unhealthy species. In this interactive workshop, author Heather Anne Wise will explain the latest science on the gut microbiome, what kinds of challenges it faces from the impacts of our diet and environment, as well as ways to rebuild and enhance internal biodiversity for optimum health.

Instructors: Heather Anne Wise, MPH is a certified holistic health coach, wellness consultant, herbalist and avid food fermenter. She studied with pioneers in the field of holistic wellness at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, accredited by Columbia Universitys Teachers College and the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and holds a masters degree in Public Health from Boston University School of Public Health. Founder of Smart Palate wellness coaching, she has given a number of workshops and talks on gut health and well-being, including at Harvard Medical School. Her book, A Gut Feeling: Conquer Your Sweet Tooth by Tuning Into Your Microbiome, is written on the transformative power of re-balancing the gut microbiome supported by the latest scientific research which guided the author's own personal health journey to recovery followed by many of her health coaching clients.
