Un-Scripted Theater Company and Ranger Danger & The Danger Ranger (SF Improv Festival 2013)
Over the last ten years, the Un-Scripted Theater Company has explored long and short form improvisation, covering the gamut of performance genres from thrillers to Bollywood, from Shakespeare to graphic novels and from game shows to Dickens. When we look to create new shows, we always think of our company's Continuing Mission: to create smart, innovative, and entertaining improvised theater that delights audiences and advances the craft and art of improvisation.
Ranger Danger and the Danger Ranger - Abbott had Costello. Martin had Lewis. Luis Cortes and Drew Coolidge have to settle for each other. These veteran improvisers and best friends seem to share one comedic mind as they explore a multitude of ideas and characters in their trademark conversational style. Ranger Danger and the Danger Ranger hail from Los Angeles, CA. Luis and Drew have a combined 25 years of experience and have been playing together for the last 9. They've studied at the Upright Citizen's Brigade, iOWest, and ComedySportz, and have performed and taught all across the US, from Chicago to Texas, Minnesota to Alaska. They perform a variation on the Pretty Flower, a monoscene with cutaways and tag outs. The conversational source scene gives way to multiple characters, ideas, and scenes.
