MiBF '19 Burly Workshops
** Fuck 'Em in the Heart! Acting for Burlesque (12-2pm)
Hosted by the first ever "King of Burlesque/Mr. Exotic World" in 2006, Tigger!
Set the stage on fire! Go from talented to TNT! Build a larger-than-life Burlesque persona with Tigger! & take your performances & characters to the next level.
Tigger! is a recognized pioneer of today's burlesque scene, but he has been an actor all his life -- "acting like a stripper" since 1992. Using his degree in theatre, his experience teaching acting at universities & over 40 years on the stage (from Shakespeare to Shimmy), Tigger! employs his theatrical training & perspective to break down what makes a burlesque performer stand out from the herd. Whatever you do in front of any kind of an audience, You are an Actor.
Learn techniques & tips to make the most of what you've got.
Be prepared to take notes!
"FUCK 'EM IN THE HEART! Acting for Burlesque" is an interactive lecture with acting/movement exercises.
** Stop, Drop, and Roll.... You're on Fire! (2pm-3:30)
Hosted by runner-up Miss Exotic World 2019 Redbone.
This workshop will teach you the basics of the sexy transition to the floor, which is something every burlesque performer needs!
Stop - teaches you to hold your space within your movement and utilize your breath to engage your next movement/step!
Drop - the basics of a transition to the floor to make your act even more dynamic with physical levels.
Roll - and gives you what to do when you are finally down there...a roll that will make anyone sizzle and give you the confidence to work it out on the floor!
Please bring: Water, towel, knee pads (highly suggested. Will have them available for sale) and dance heels
Attire: wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move and stretch in
** Burlesque Legend Chair Workshop (3:30-5pm)
Hosted by Miss Nude Universe of 1975, and burlesque legend Tiffany Carter
Make use of your most available large prop, the chair! Burlesque legend Tiffany Carter will teach you how to use the chair to accentuate, tease and dazzle! You will learn graceful and attractive ways to get onto and off of the chair and use it to enhance your striptease. Bring your favorite burlesque costume pieces (boa, panel, fan, scarf, anything, and make sure to bring your heels or dance shoes.
This class includes learning a full chair routine, so dress to dance and dazzle! Chairs will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you desire.
