Our subscription series includes 4 concerts:
1) Salute for Service - Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019 at 3 p.m.
Centretown United Church, 507 Bank Street, Ottawa
The Choir is proud to present the world premiere of Ottawa composer Elise Letourneau's Salute for Service: Prayer for Victory, an extended vocal work composed in honour of our Canadian service men and women and our 100th Remembrance Day, with text (poem) by Canadian WWII veteran Richard Diespecker. Also on the program, Erik Esenvalds Only In Sleep and other music for Remembrance Day, plus some hits from the 1940s.

2) Brass Christmas - Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019 at 7:30 p.m.
Centretown United Church, 507 Bank Street, Ottawa
Lively music for the Christmas season, including John Rutter's uplifting Gloria and our ever-popular audience singalong carols. The choir will be accompanied by four trumpets, three trombones, a tuba, timpani and all manner of other percussion instruments. A holiday blast!

3) Songs of the Spirit - Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 3 p.m.
St. Thomas the Apostle Anglican Church
2345 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa
An afternoon concert of inspiring and reflective works by Ralph Vaughan Williams (Five Mystical Songs, with baritone soloist), Gerald Finzi (My Spirit Sang All Day) and Eric Whitacre (Five Hebrew Love Songs, with violin soloist), among others.

4) This Is Why We Sing, Part III: Musicals

Our "TIWWS" concert series of music chosen by choir members continues with an evening of songs from popular musicals. From Mary Poppins to West Side Story to Jersey Boys and more, we'll sing (and maybe even dance) our way through a wide selection of material and you'll be invited to join in!

Purchase tickets for the 2019-2020 Subscription Series below; then bring those tickets to the November 10 concert at Centretown United Church and exchange them for your concert tickets.

Le Choeur est fier de présenter la première mondiale de Salute for Service: Prayer for Victory, de la compositrice d'Ottawa Elise Letourneau. Il s'agit d'une importante oeuvre vocale composée en l'honneur de nos militaires canadiens et de notre centième jour du Souvenir, sur un texte (poème) de Richard Diespecker, ancien combattant canadien de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Nous interpréterons également Only In Sleep d'Erik Esenvalds et d'autres oeuvres pour le jour du Souvenir, ainsi que quelques grands succès des années 1940.

2) Des cuivres pour Noël - Mardi 10 décembre 2019, 19 h 30
Église Centretown United, 507, rue Bank, Ottawa
De la musique entraînante pour Noël, dont l'inspirant Gloria de John Rutter et nos très attendus chants de Noël avec participation de l'auditoire. Le choeur sera accompagné de quatre trompettes, trois trombones, un tuba, des timbales et toutes sortes d'autres instruments à percussion. Une fanfare des Fêtes!

Notre série de concerts "VPNC" de musique choisie par les membres du choeur se poursuit avec une soirée de pièces provenant de comédies musicales populaires. Nous chanterons un vaste éventail d'oeuvres extraites de Mary Poppins, West Side Story, Jersey Boys et bien plus, en y ajoutant peut-être quelques pas de danse. Vous serez invités à participer!
