24th July 2019 5.30pm - 7.00pm GMT
In this 90 minute workshop, we will use Improvised Comedy and Actor Training tools to explore how we begin boldly and make mistakes playful opportunities.
How are you with beginnings? Do you tend to hold back, or get anxious? Do you rush in, or over plan?
For some, beginning is a nerve-wracking experience, but once started, you're fine. For others, beginning is easy. It is the keeping going part that is the struggle.
Which feels more like you?
And how brave are you with making mistakes? How capable are you of saying fuck it, diving in with full commitment and making it up imperfectly as you go along? Can you find the funny side, or even better... the creative opportunity?
What if these are two complimentary aspects of the same thing?
In this sessions we will shake up these habits and see if we can grow more range and confidence. It will be playful and very silly, but with a practical intention threading through it. How can we begin better? How can give less of a shit about being perfect and throw out a few crap ideas in a safe environment to dare to experiment with a different way...?
