Discordia Days Burlesque Festival
Beginning in 2012 as the Purrrlesque Follies, this festival began with the goal of using our shakes and shimmies for good. over the past three years, we have put together a festival that is not only about showcasing our talents, but raising awareness for local charities. In 2012, our festival was headlined by Jo 'Boobs' Weldon with the proceeds going towards the Sheree Denise Jackson Foundation. In 2013, the festival benefited Girls Rock NC and featured Nasty Canasta and Peekaboo Pointe. Calamity Chang headlined the festival in 2014 and raised more than 1,500 for the Merit Pitbull Foundation. Rechristened the Discordia Days Burlesque Festival in 2015, the troupe moved to a new home, CTG's Star Theater in Greensboro. This is a gorgeous space that's both opulent and modern. Headlined by Iris LeMour and featuring Jezebelle Von Jane, nearly a thousand dollars was raised for AIDS Care Services. The 2016 Festival featured Kitten DeVille and benefited Northstar LGBT Center. 2017 featured Miss Poison Ivory, 2016 Miss Exotic World, and benefited the NC ACLU. 2018 featured RedBone and Ellie Quinn while raising money for Gate City Legal Services.
The 2019 festival will feature Lou Lou la Duchesse de Riere and Calamity Chang and benefit the Interactive Resource Center of Greensboro.
