Build Your Herbal Medicine Chest
Join herbalists Lorna Mauney-Brodek and Anna Drews this July to learn the skills, techniques, and recipes you need to create an array of preparations, from tinctures to teas, and salves to capsules!
Suitable for all skill levels!Learn to make basic remedies to address common complaints such as cold/flu, allergy, headaches, digestive upset, aches and pains, and more. Join us for 4 evenings of medicine making as we whip up safe and effective remedies you can use to help your friends and family. You will leave this class with instructional handouts, recipes, and a mini-medicine chest of your very own filled with sweet, sweet herbal medicine!
Class will be held on Tuesday evenings: 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th of July from 6 pm - 8:30 pm at the Fumbally Stables.
Cost: €160 [€40 supply fee plus €120 class fee]
Lorna Mauney-Brodek is a travelling herbalist, medicine maker, wildcrafter and teacher dedicated to promoting diversity, environmental responsibility, and social justice through herbalism. Lorna is the founder and director of the Herbalista Health Network, a web of mobile clinics, health education, and service opportunities that provide earth-based care to underserved communities. She helped to launch the Dublin Herb Bike, a herbal collective providing free, herbal care to communities in need around the Dublin area. Lornas teachings celebrate our capacity to build community through herbalism.
Anna Drews is a licensed massage therapist and community herbalist. Anna believes in empowering people to find their own definition of health and healing. She was a member of the wellness team during the Apollo House Occupation and in 2016 she traveled to Calais, offering massage at the Womens Center in the Jungle refugee camp. Anna is a founding member of the Dublin Herb Bike, helping to make community care a new form of self care.
