An Evening in Conversation with Chris and Emily Norton
Chris Norton won the hearts and admiration of people across the nation with his faith, courage and determination on his inspiring journey from his spinal cord injury playing football as a Luther College freshman in 2010 that left him with only a three percent chance of ever standing again to walking across the graduation stage with fiance Emily at his side in 2015. Chriss CaringBridge posts demonstrated his remarkable positivity in the face of overwhelming odds, the importance of hope, and the power of prayer, as did the memoir co-authored with his father "The Power of Faith When Tragedy Strikes".
Chris and Emily return to Decorah on Monday, July 1 for an Evening in Conversation at 7:00 p.m. at Carrie Lee Elementary Auditorium about their soon-to-be-published follow-up, "The Seven Longest Yards", published by Zondervan. This event is hosted by Dragonfly Books, Decorahs independent bookstore.
The book continues their uplifting story of partnership and faith in God which have continued to guide them through his ongoing physical challenges and her battle with depression and anxiety to their next walk together down the wedding aisle and into their new life after welcoming 5 adopted girls and 17 foster children into their home and hearts.
Chris won the 2011 Americas Choice Honoree for Courage in Sports award after returning to Luther College in a wheelchair in the fall of 2011, which led to Chris becoming a motivational speaker, national media attention, and the creation of his SCI CAN foundation which helps others with spinal cord injuries.
