Scott Burton is a guitarist and composer living in Richmond, Virginia. For over a decade Scott has been creating music in a wide variety of settings combining composed and free improvised sounds and practices.
For the past few years Scott has been fascinated with the intersection of improvisation and sound design. Through a series of YouTube deep dives and chance meetings, Scott began studying the modular synthesizer and various sound processing modules as a way to bring the guitar and sound manipulation techniques together in performance. These extended capabilities gave way to bigger and bigger sounds, all while leaving the central guitar tone unaffected.
Tonight he will perform two pieces using these techniques. The first piece is called The student blinded by wisdom and the second, Ritual Magick 2.
