Join us for a day of pedaling and bar hopping as we celebrate the life of Kim Shaw Lawrence who lost her life to Severe Aplastic Anemia. This benefit ride will bring awareness to the disease as well as hope to patients whose best chance to survive is a marrow transplant by donating proceeds.|
Check in will begin at 11:00 at the Yankee Clipper -312 SW Maple St, Ankeny, IA. You will receive the 5th annual commemorative shirt, gather with friends, share stories and enjoy a frosty beverage.
At 1:00 we will have a memorial toast and send riders off on the 25 mile High Trestle Trail. The stops along the way:
1: Nite Hawk Bar & Grill
2: Flat Tire Lounge
3: High Trestle Bridge
4: Whistlin' Donkey
You can choose The Whistlin' Donkey as your final stop or you can turn it into a 50 mile ride and do it all backwards. You don't want to miss seeing the High Trestle Bridge at night.
Bike rentals are available locally. Look on our website for more information (www.RideOn4Kim.org). Don't feel like riding? You can still join the event and drive to each location or stay at one location and cheer the riders on as they ride through to and fro.
