WORKSHOP | Clowning in Burlesque with Annie-Mae Allure
This part lecture, part movement workshop shares clowning techniques that can be used to enhance any style of burlesque performance. Annie-Mae Allure has a bachelor's degree in Education and has been teaching this workshop for 5 years across the world. Performers from Seattle, WA to Como, Italy have learned how to release their inner clown and enhance their routines with "Clowning in Burlesque" Please bring: Clothing or props you'd like to work with (stockings, gloves, boas, hats, fans, etc)

About the Instructor:
ANNIE-MAE ALLURE, Kansas City's Animated Burlesque Star, is an award winning and internationally traveled performer known for her high energy routines. She has been a professional entertainer for 14 years, primarily in musical theater, and carries those experiences to her burlesque acts to provide theatrics every time. When not on stage, Annie-Mae produces the Missouri Regional Burlypicks, the Kansas City Nerdlesque Festival, and Kansas City's highest rated burlesque and variety show, the Rude Revue and Burly Q.
THE TWIN CITIES BURLESQUE ACADEMY, (formally Playful Peacock) the first school of its kind in the Twin Cities, was founded by Ophelia Flame and Gina Louise, who have been performing together since 2003 and teaching burlesque workshops since 2005. The belief that there's a bit of showpony in all of us is the drive behind their mission: to teach burlesque technique, performance, and history while encouraging self-expression and body confidence, welcoming students of all levels and backgrounds.
