One For The Foxes - Workshop CANCELED. We apologize for any inconvenience.
SORRY, WE HAD TO CANCEL THIS WORKSHOP.
Call Ken Meyer, 352-514-5606 for more.
This musical workshop will be taught by One For The Foxes, an exciting and dynamic transatlantic collaboration that has won over audiences on both sides of the ocean with their rousing blend of traditional Irish and American folk music. The trio, which consists of Dublin's Tadhg Ó Meachair (Goitse), Galway's Dave Curley (Slide) and Denver, Colorado's, Joanna Hyde (The Hydes), is known for its energetic and engaging performances of both traditional and newly-composed material. Award-winning musicians each in their own right, Dave, Tadhg, and Joanna have forged a unique amalgam with their diverse strengths and personal histories, weaving together traditional melodies, original compositions, and songs from the broader folk canon. In so doing, they reveal their forthright grasp of - and abiding passion for - Irish traditional music, with a repertoire that highlights the vital role of the Irish tradition in shaping American folk music.
The trio's workshop will be based on the Irish tune repertoire, using good examples to explore approaches to ornamentation and variations. They are willing and able to work with musicians of various levels, including those who may be completely new to Irish music (in a separate group, if needed), but also ready to teach to intermediate and advanced levels. This workshop will be conducted in the relaxed setting of a private home, the perfect way to become immersed in learning from these highly skilled musicians and teachers.
NOTE: One For The Foxes will be performing the evening before the workshop, at 7:00 p.m. on Friday April 19th 2019, at the same residence. See https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/4106533
