Jazz is an American art form with influences from every part of the world. Its energy and ideas ripple back out into the world, re-influencing its influencers. You can hear its effect on composers and see its effect in society.
We'll play Ragtime, Impressionists, French Modernists from the interwar period, American giants like Gershwin and Monk, tangos from Piazzolla and songs from songwriters like Burt Bacharach and Stevie Wonder.
