13th Annual Taste of Hyde Park
Taste of Hyde Park is a yearly fundraiser in support of the Hyde Park Transitional Housing Project. The event includes delicious food from restaurants in Hyde Park, as well as live music and a silent auction.
The Hyde Park Transitional Housing Project is an all-volunteer not-for-profit organization that helps homeless families transition to economic independence by paying for rent and utilities for up to two years. We also provide furniture and housewares that have been donated to our organization. In addition, we mentor and counsel them as they make the transition to a stable life. HPTHP is a 501(c)3 organization under the Internal Revenue Code.
Past clients include a woman with two children who became a union electrician who put two children through college. Another client recent graduated with an M.A. in Chemistry from Valparaiso University. Our current client is a young mother of four. Over the last year and a half, she has made great progress and a bright future ahead of her. We are looking forward to taking on a new client family this fall.
The Taste of Hyde Park is the main source of operating funds for the Hyde Park Transitional Housing Project.
