GRAND FINALE
Church of the Covenant
Boston, MA
Share this event:

Sunday, 21 July, starting at 8:00 pm, Church of the Covenant, 67 Newbury Street, Boston (corner of Newbury and Berkeley), the SONS OF LIBERTY FESTIVAL presents "THE GRAND FINALE", with Xerces Blue Ensemble, Duo Orfeo, Redline Brass Quintet, Roberto Cassan and John Muratore, and other selected artists.

Xerces Blue Ensemble is focused on the informed and story-driven performance of solo songs, duets and other chamber vocal works of the Baroque Period. With complimenting, minimal instrumental partnership, Xerces Blue aims to provide a unique and intimate storytelling experience. If an aria is just a piece of the entire cake, we aim to concentrate on the cupcakes! http://www.xercesblueensemble.com/

It is the vision of Duo Orfeo to be a voice unlike any other in the chamber music world, a vision actualized through their choice of repertoire, their performance style, and their distinctive sonority, utilizing both traditional classical and electric guitars. The duo sees the act of seeking out and selecting repertoire as deeply personal and essential literally as an act of composition. As such, it can only be bound by the limits of the imagination.  http://www.arielartists.com/artists/duo-orfeo/
Redline Brass Quintet seeks to bring artful performances that incorporate an element of active engagement to a wide range of audiences. In our performances and workshops, we strive to demonstrate that all great music, no matter the style or when it was written, can be relevant and interesting to any audience. In addition, we aim to further the medium of brass quintet though the commissioning and performance of new works. http://redlinebrass.com/

Highly-acclaimed classical guitarist John Muratore and internationally known accordionist Roberto Cassan met in Montreal in 2005 while performing with Robert DeCormier and Counterpoint Chorale. The duo is known for their arrangements of classical and contemporary music, which combine the intimacy of chamber music with the spontaneity of jazz. Their repertoire, which ranges from traditional European classical to contemporary American, Latin American, tango, folk and jazz-influenced compositions, displays the diversity of their musical interests and influences. http://www.cassanmuratore.com/#!bio/c9qb
