FQ08 Workshop - Drone Flute Building
This is a two-day flute building workshop, Saturday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, and Sunday 9:00 am - 3:00 pm, as needed to complete the drone flute project. You will be making your own drone flute from a pre-tuned drone flute kit. Advanced techniques include discussions of voicing, balancing, and tuning a drone-style flute. Meet with Tom on Saturday morning to get project details and timing of the tasks; it will be possible to attend other Flute Quest events, as breaks are needed for glues and paints to dry, etc., so you can configure your flute building time to fit other activities, too. Tom Stewart of Stellar Flutes is from Shelton, WA, and has been making flutes since 1995. Stellar Flutes is a family-run business, with Tom, his wife Erica, son Matt and daughter Lilly.
