LOVE ALWAYS, MOM is a film that speaks to anyone and everyone with a dream and inspires us to never give up on our dreams. This film was written, produced, and directed by metastatic breast cancer thriver and Living Beyond Breast Cancer Hear My Voice Alumni, Trish Gonnella Russo with her producing partner, Craig E. Shapiro. Trish spoke of her work around this film at her Hear My Voice training in April 2017 and is so excited 2 years later to finally share the film with Philadelphia family, friends, and fellow Thrivers!
Filmed over the course of 3 years, Love Always, Mom is a feature documentary that tells the tale of a stage 4 cancer survivor and her husband's controversial decision to have a child using an egg donor and a surrogate. With laughter and tears, we witness a mothers love letter to her unborn child and a never before seen on film look into cancer and infertility.
In 2018 LOVE ALWAYS, MOM won the Audience Award at its World Premiere at Geena Davis' Bentonville Film Festival and Best Documentary at the Catalina Film Festival. It has also been an official selection of DTLA Film Festival in Los Angeles, the Silicon Valley International Film Festival in San Francisco, and will go to the Nevada Women's Film Festival in Las Vegas this March.
The Philadelphia screening will benefit the 501(c)3 non-profit Trish created to fund the film and the 2019 screening tour, The Cyan Gray Hope Foundation. Half of the proceeds raised at the Philadelphia screening will go to Living Beyond Breast Cancer (www.lbbc.org) to connect people with trusted breast cancer information and a community of support. Proceeds beyond the film and screening tour will benefit cancer research.
Before Philadelphia LOVE ALWAYS MOM will screen in Millburn, NJ (April 4th & 5th) and following Philly, will screen in Brooklyn (4/10). All tix avail on Brown Paper Tickets, links posted on FB & IG @lovealwaysmomthemovie. More cities to be announced!
Please note "red carpet" will be 7-7:30 PM, film will run from 7:30-9 PM followed by a Q&A, and mingle. Movie snacks & drinks will be served from 7-10:30 pm. Red carpet attire = Hollywood-cool. Think comfortable but stylish, not gowns. Could be pants, could be a skirt, or dress. Wear what puts some swagger in your step!
