Hydraulic Systems Training
A members-only training opportunity from MMTA, April 5, 2019 at Lyman-Morse Boatbuilding in Thomaston. This course will cover:
Hydraulic fitting identification Basic theory of hydraulic systems Overview of basic systems used in the marine industry and the best way to identify the two basic types Basic trouble shooting Hydraulic safety and best hydraulic work practices
The class will run from 8:00 a.m. -3:00 pm. Pizza lunch will be included.
Who Should Attend: Mechanics and systems technicians and/or people who supervise those workers. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from MMTA.
About our Instructor: Kevin MacDonald, Motion Industries
Kevin has worked in the field of hydraulics for 32 years. He has completed factory training from manufacturers including Caterpillar, Komatsu, JCB, Link-Belt, Timberjack, Volvo, Vickers/Eaton, Rexroth, Parker, Gates, and Aeroquip hose.
Kevin has been employed by Motion Industries for twenty years as a Fluid Power Specialist (Hydraulic and Pneumatics), also for Engineering System Designs & Repairs for Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts. He has also been a Fluid Conveyance Specialist (Hose & fittings). Kevin has designed and taught hydraulic classes to Motion Industries customers many times including Maine DOT (statewide) and General Dynamics. He has been a guest instructor on hydraulics with the University of Maine (Gorham) and Southern Maine Community College.
