HDC SETAC 2019 Annual Spring Meeting
New Perspectives to Old Problems: Advancements in Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology Research to Address Environmental Challenges
Register today for HDC SETACs 2019 Annual Spring Meeting.
The 2-day meeting will take place at the Chauncey Hotel & Conference Center in Princeton, NJ from April 24-25, 2019. Register for the meeting and reserve a hotel room (if needed) to ensure your attendance at one of the most informative and interesting meetings that HDC SETAC has held in many years.
The Hudson-Delaware Chapter board of directors have gathered experts in PFAS to offer current updates on fate and transport, analytical chemistry concerns, sampling techniques, and risk assessment data. You can be assured that many of the attendees will have a direct connection to this topic and have many questions. Also on the agenda are talks on endangered species including a look at how fresh water mussels help clean the water but also create many questions on their importance with construction activities in rivers. Be prepared for new academic research from graduate and undergraduate students as they present their student posters. Stay for our evening dinner and hear the latest on the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and the future of space technology.
Stay the night because the Chauncey Hotel has offered HDC SETAC a preferred rate for a block of hotel rooms so reserve now before they sell out. Hotel rooms in the Princeton, NJ area are costly and in high demand in the month of April so we recommend making your hotel reservations ASAP. This year's schedule is a Wednesday and Thursday schedule so please plan accordingly. The Opening Address will be given by Daniel R. Millemann, PhD NJDEP HDC SETAC President 2018-2019 on Wednesday April 24th starting promptly at 9:00 AM.
The 2019 Annual 2-Day Meeting is an opportunity for all HDC SETAC members to gather and discuss current topics and research that affect all those living within the Hudson-Delaware region. HDC hopes to promote the exchange of knowledge in fields related to risk assessment, environmental analytical chemistry, water resources and environmental toxicology. A commitment of SETAC is to balance the interests of academia, business and government and therefore our membership and normally our meeting attendees are equally represented at many of the meetings. The cooperation among these groups is critical while emphasizing current research and the importance of understanding issues as well as developing solutions for problems related to the protection and enhancement of the human and ecological health of the region.
In addition to your registration we are asking everyone this year to also complete a separate HDC SETAC 2019 membership renewal for $15 ($10 for Students). Please see Membership section on the HDC website. Each year the membership fee would need to be renewed. If you pay your HDC membership fee with SETAC North America when you renew your North America membership please let us know as we get notified by SETAC NA and should have records. Thank you for those who have already completed your 2019 membership.
