Finding Freedom is a concert filled with inspirational songs of hope, featuring Confluence Willamette Valley LGBT Chorus in collaboration with guest choruses from each concert venue. The concert will include Words Like Freedom with text by Langston Hughes, a song by Walter Robinson highlighting the heroism of Harriet Tubman, an uplifting traditional Zulu song Freedom is Coming/Hamba Vangeli, and more. Raymond Elliott, Founding Artistic Director of Confluence, will be conducting.
Audiences will be energized by the power of human survival, perseverance and joy. The Salem concert will feature the First Congregational United Church of Christ Chancel Choir with Devin Desmond, Music Director. The Portland concert will feature the Bridgeport United Church of Christ Choir with Jamie Welch, Director. The Corvallis concert will feature the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Choir with David Servias, Director.
Salem - Friday, March 15 at 7:30 pm in the First Congregational UCC Church at 700 Marion St. NE
Portland - Saturday, March 16 at 7:30 pm in the Bridgeport Community United Church of Christ at 621 NE 76th Avenue.
Corvallis - Sunday, March 17 at 4:30 pm in the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at 2945 NW Circle Blvd.
Tickets may be used at any of the three locations!
Our May 31, June 1 and 2 concert "Awesome 80's" brings you classics from the decade. Featuring the sounds of Cyndi Lauper, Eurythmics, Prince, Madonna, and, of course, Michael Jackson, and more. The lineup centers on LGBT artists or strong allies.
