The REPS Showcase is an annual three-day event that celebrates the golden age of radio a period in American history when radio dramas and comedies entertained millions of listeners. This years convention will include recreations of classic radio shows performed with live music and sound effects, interviews with guest stars, and panel discussions on radio history.
Over a dozen professional actors, several of whom worked during radios golden age, will lend their talents to Showcase. Legendary Academy Award ®winning actress Margaret OBrien will headline the event. Her many popular films include The Canterville Ghost, Meet Me in St. Louis, Our Vines Have Tender Grapes, The Secret Garden, and Jane Eyre. OBrien will star in recreations of Suspense and The Jack Benny Program at this years Showcase.
Appearing at the convention for the first time will be Diana Canova (Soap), Richard Herd (Star Trek: Voyager), Patricia Herd (Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil), and comedian/magician Brad Zinn. Returning actors will include Larry Albert (Imagination Theatre), Tommy Cook (Red Ryder radio series), Ivan Curry (Bobby Benson and the B-Bar-B Riders radio series), David Ossman (Firesign Theater), Melinda Peterson (Antaeus Theatre Company), Phil Proctor (Firesign Theatre), Stuffy Singer (The Great Gildersleeve radio series), Beverly Washburn (Old Yeller, Star Trek), Anne Whitfield (Phil Harris and Alice Faye radio series), and director Gregg Oppenheimer (I Love Lucy: A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Sitcom).
Ticket prices range from $25 for partial day passes to $139 for a full weekend pass. Saturday evening includes an Italian buffet dinner. Sunday morning includes a brunch buffet.
